It’s Leap Day!

February 29th! Actually my best friend from high school was born on Feb 29th 1972! Which makes her almost 6 months OLDER than me! HA HA HA!! When you get to be 40-something, that’s a BIG deal! LOL

Got my nails done’s been a few months and how I miss that! It wasn’t as nice as the massage I got in January which was my Christmas present from my husband. THAT was heaven! 90 minutes of pure relaxation.

Still dealing with back pain. Fell at work in their parking lot a few weeks ago and that exacerbated my pain. Ugh! Going to see a new Pain Management Dr on March 18th. I am SO hoping for some new treatment modalities. Being in pain every day ALL THE TIME is NO fun!

Now, I’ve been participating in Katie Orr’s Everyday Love study via Instagram…one of my good FB/Insta friends is one of the featured accounts with this study! I’ve learned a few things while doing this study.

Still follow Women Living Well and her Good Morning Girl’s study. We Start the book of Mark on March 7th! Don’t forget She Reads Truth also!

Nursing Wrecks You

Well, on my end, I’m looking at back surgery in the future. My L5 is almost completely bulged out of my spinal column. It’s causing pain on my left side, with sharp pains continuing down my left leg 😦 I’ve already had 3 epidural injections into my lower spine that helped some but not much. I’ve been put on Neurontin but that has caused me to gain 15 POUNDS with no changes in my eating habits. Lifting 500 pound patients on a regular basis at my last job probably exacerbated or actually caused my injury, so yeah, a nursing career can wreck you.

On the other hand, I love my job as an RN in a male adult correctional facility. It’s caused me to learn a few new things, which is always good. Hopefully when I do have surgery, it’ll help my pain. I’m in pain every day, not fun.

Haven’t blogged in forever!

Life’s been busy..not that I have any followers anyway. 😉

Working, school for Patrick oh and working…that pretty much takes up my time. If you’re a friend of mine on Facebook, I’m very active there…and on Insta.

I bought a ticket for the Jan 18th Performance of the Dancing With The Stars Tour. It’s coming to the Cleveland OH Hard Rock Rocksino!! I LOVE DWTS! My fave pro is Derek Hough…..I have met him. He is great. He was paired with Bethany Mota this past season. Bethany is on YouTube and that’s how she became famous, by posting videos after being bullied at school 😦 Anyway…Mark Ballas, Val Chmerikovskiy, Witney Carson and her partner Aflonso Ribiero, who won this past season. Emma Slater and KYM JOHNSON!!! Plus Sasha Farber!! and Keo Motsepe!!! I CANNOT WAIT!!

When I went to see Derek & Juliann in their Move Live on Tour show this past summer, I met two girls there. Felecia and Rachel. They are Christians, younger than me, like 22 or 23 but we share an admiration for Derek Hough…met them at the bar across the street from the theater where the show was held. Anyway, they live in Ohio too!!! SO I already have plans to meet up with them for the DWTS tour as they too bought their tickets!! YAY! I’ve been keeping in touch with them via Instagram 🙂 SO COOL!

I decided NOT to spring for Front Row VIP tickets for the DWTS Tour but DID get an aisle know, in case Mark Ballas dances by…I’ll grab him too and kiss him on the cheek, like I did with Derek & Jules! Mark did a FABULOUS JOB with Sadie Robertson this past season! I HOPE I get a chance to meet him too!

Book Review—I Want God!

I was selected to be part of the Book Launch Team for the book, I Want God by Lisa Whittle. Now, I’d never heard of this author. One of the women I follow on Instagram, Melissa Emma, had a pre-release copy of this book and I saw her picture of it on Instagram and thought it sounded intriguing. Hmm…then I noticed that the Publisher was still taking applications for the Launch Team for this book. So I applied and was accepted! YAY!

What a life changing book! It has changed my outlook on wanting the things that the world wants and made me look at what Jesus wants. Which is to know Him. Knowing God is more than just going to church on Sundays. Lisa poured her heart and soul into this book! She truly did! She challenges the reader to delve into a more meaningful relationship with Christ. This book is only 176 pages long but the words in those pages are very powerful!

Messy Beautiful Love! Pre-order now and get these great Freebies!!

I’ve been selected to be part of another Launch Team! This one I have personal experience with as the author of this new book, Messy Beautiful Love by Darlene Schacht, has dealt with infidelity in her marriage as well. Her husband chose to forgive her as I have chosen to forgive mine. When I saw last week that Darlene was taking submissions for members for her launch team of her new book, that’s due out September 16th, I knew I had to submit my application! I had the pleasure to listen to Darlene speak when I attended Courtney Joseph’s Women Living Well Conference last year! How I wish I had the courage to go up and introduce myself to her! I’ve followed her blog for several years now, having found it through Courtney.

You see, my husband had an affair. As God forgave us and forgives us for our sins so I forgave my husband. He was willing to work on our marriage and we are still working on our marriage as I write this.  Darlene’s husband showed her the same grace that God shows us when we accept him as our savior.

Darlene’s book is available for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes and Noble right now! If you pre-order the book, you are eligible for some amazing freebies!

The Cure for the Perfect Life book review

I had the pleasure of being chosen to be part of the Launch Team for the new book, The Cure for the Perfect Life by Kathi Lipp and Cheri Gregory. Let me just say, that it’s been such a blessing in my life, having read this book. The book describes ways in how we, as Christian Women, can start Living Braver in our everyday lives by not giving in to the “4 Bullies”. They are, Perfectionism, Procrastination, Performancism and People-Pleasing.

Kathi and Cheri offer 12 “cures” in confronting these bullies. How to say NO and that it’s ok to tell someone that you just can’t put one more thing on your plate. Or, putting something off for so long because you’re afraid it won’t be perfect. Those are several examples the authors give to try to combat your bullies & get you to live braver.

I recently quit my job rather than finishing up my two week notice prior to starting my new job next month. Prior to reading this book, I would have never done that! I made a brave, bold decision and am much happier for it! My family is enjoying the benefits of that decision as well. Home cooked meals, a clean house. I made a decision that was right for me and reading this book gave me the courage to do it!
